The greenfield project across network, cloud and security was completed in six months

Melbourne – Orro, a leading Australian secure network and digital infrastructure provider, today announced the completion of the digital infrastructure build for the new Sunshine Private Hospital, in Melbourne’s West.

Opening in early 2023, Sunshine Private Hospital, managed by Unitas Healthcare is an innovative, state-of-the-art hospital with world class facilities for Melbourne’s growing west.

In just six months, Orro designed and rolled out a complete digital landscape, including Orro Cloud, state of the art endpoint devices that meet health requirements, network and telephony infrastructure all capable of providing high user experience and a secure workplace for hospital staff, supporting Sunshine Private Hospital’s digital ambitions.

The digital infrastructure hosted and managed by Orro in its private cloud brings together multiple applications across the patient journey from intake, to surgery monitoring and reporting, and managing patients’ requirements.

Orro has integrated Follow-Me Desktop which enables hospital staff to log in from any computer around the facility, allowing staff desktops to follow them from workstation to workstation across inpatient locations. The system will support 250-300 staff at the hospital and significantly streamline the full patient lifecycle, increasing efficiency.

A security operations centre (SOC) run by Orro has been set up for Sunshine Private Hospital, which includes 24×7 monitoring, analysis and response services to ensure a secure environment in line with the hospital’s security requirements.

Jonathan Plaskow, Director of Cloud Services at Orro says, “Orro is pleased to be supporting Sunshine Private Hospital on the development of a new state of the art facility, building an entire network and digital ecosystem from the ground up. With no legacy issues or constraints that come with existing systems, we were able to provide an end-to-end solution across the full range of Orro capabilities Network, Cloud and Security.”

Andrew Kloster, Director of Unitas Healthcare and Sunshine Private Hospital says, “At Unitas Healthcare, we believe implementing innovative digital healthcare solutions lead to superior patient outcomes, which is our priority. Orro delivered a seamless, secure, cloud first environment to allow us to build a fully integrated, industry leading digital health system. By adopting advanced digital healthcare, the new Sunshine Private Hospital is now a state of the art facility, delivering clear advantages to our doctors, our patients, and our staff.”

We are extremely happy with the end result and we look forward to having Orro on board to support us as we move to provide better patient care for our community.

Orro will act as part of the hospital’s IT team, providing on premise services for full end-user support with a team on site and 24/7 remote helpdesk support.

Management of the network will be out of Orro’s Network Operations Centre – as well as utilising the company’s worldwide monitoring and support centres.

The solution will also offer Sunshine Private a much greater degree of network visibility and control, consolidating telecommunications suppliers into one portal through Orro’s management network platform One Touch Control (OTC).

With OTC’s highly-integrated network management approach, the business receives real-time status of network performance and proactive alerts on hardware health and network performance for utilisation, latency, packet loss and jitter across all network legs.
