Performance and visibility of shop network as travel sector set to take-off
Sydney, Australia – Orro, a leading Australian secure network and digital infrastructure provider, today announced a three-year partnership with Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) to manage the travel group’s retail shop network connectivity.
As part of the deal Orro will manage the end-to-end networking connectivity for Flight Centre’s Australian retail shop network. FCTG is one of the world’s largest travel groups with leisure and corporate travel businesses in 26 countries.
The network change will significantly improve the current Flight Centre network connectivity from its traditional network topology, as well as delivering high redundancy and improved network visibility.
The solution is also reducing network connectivity costs.
Daniel Greengarten, Chief Operating Officer, Orro said, “As FCTG evolves to become an omni-channel travel services retailer, connectivity is mission-critical for its business. As more people return to travel they bring with them heightened expectations of reliability and performance of digital services. Orro is extremely pleased to be working closely with Flight Centre during this growth period.”
Chris Locke, Chief Information Officer, Flight Centre Travel Group, said “Strengthening our network is critical to delivering on Flight Centre’s strategic objective of being the world’s best omni-channel provider of corporate and leisure travel services. The Orro managed network allows us to reduce operational costs, whilst at the same time investing in technology and products to drive future business growth.”
Phase one of the program included transitioning the company’s Australia retail network connectivity across 427 sites – as well as building improved redundancy via NBN and 4G.
The network change comes amongst lowering of travel restrictions and renewed confidence amongst travelers. The faster, more stable connectivity will allow Flight Centre to provide new and optimised digital services for business and consumer travelers, as well as its shop network and partners.
Management of the network will be out of Orro’s Network Operations Centre – as well as utilising the company’s worldwide monitoring and support centres. Orro is headquartered in Sydney with offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, the United Kingdom and the Philippines.
The solution will also offer Flight Centre a much greater degree of network visibility and control, by consolidating the management of Flight Centre’s underlying telco data suppliers into one portal through Orro’s network management platform One Touch Control.
With One Touch Control’s highly-integrated network management approach, the business receives real-time status of network performance and proactive alerts on hardware health and network performance for utilisation, latency, packet loss and jitter across all network legs.
