The company leads one of the most geographically diverse technology roll-outs across 4,000 sites nationally
August 2021 – Orro, Australia’s leading platform-enabled secure network and digital infrastructure provider, has completed a milestone network transformation project with Australia Post, one of the largest overhauls to be completed by the postal service organisation.
The project transitioned the 4,000 Australia Post post offices, delivery centres and other facilities across the country to the nbn, providing greater network reliability, speed and lower costs. Orro began work on the project in August 2019 and will now be responsible for network performance and upgrades for the next five years.
As the largest overhaul of its technology network in Australia Post history, the completion of the project is a landmark moment for the organisation, ensuring it can remain agile and capable of business continuity, as the state of play for businesses in Australia continues to evolve.
Unique to this project is Orro’s internally developed network management platform called One Touch Control (OTC), which has the unique ability to amalgamate multi-vendor and carrier connectivity into a single dashboard. From here, Australia Post can monitor and report on network performance, hardware health, carrier SLAs and best practice business processes.
Rodd Cunico, Chief Executive Officer at Orro commented on the completion of the project:
“The Australia Post project is an amalgamation of our mission at Orro, which is to create ‘future now’ solutions that make it faster, simpler and safer for organisations to access, store and share information.
“Our compelling offering brings businesses into the future, enabling them to respond to the evolution of next-generation enterprise technology. Australia Post was looking for a partner that could offer superior service delivery with a flexible, innovative and proven approach to transition and transform, and we are pleased to have delivered on that objective.”
Commenting on the successful completion of the landmark project, Australia Post Chief Information Officer Munro Farmer said:
“At the start of our network transformation, our challenge was to modernise the backend of the business. We now have increased network resilience and uptime and are equipped with a robust communications backbone that will allow us to deliver the next generation of digital services. This means for the first time in Australia Post history, every staff member within the organisation will be on the same communications platform.
“The completion of this project is a testament to the smarts and hard work across both Australia Post and Orro. ”
Orro is creating a new generation of digital adaptive networks as the company brings together considerable expertise in networking, cloud and managed services and security. This is crucial within a market facing intense pressure to maintain quality of service under rapidly changing conditions and competitive pressure.
