A 6-month FTC (with a view to become perm) as a PHP Developer, you’ll have access to over 400 big name brands as you deliver them end-to-end platform-enabled solutions.

 

On a role…

You’ll be supporting the business across cloud, migration and infrastructure, working on a well-funded automation project that the developers will implement to reduce staff overheads.

The automation tool itself is designed to reduce manual tasks and thus save staff heaps of time annually. However, the project leaders have realised they are missing your expertise to actually be able to implement the tool in practice.

Working with 10 developers, 2 managers and a business analyst, you will also be reporting into the Core Systems Development Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide sound development principles in the enhancement and maintenance of the tool
  • Work with various business leaders to understand, and document any necessary changes
  • Manage a team to produce efficient application changes
  • Monitor the performance and the application and take appropriate action if performance metrics are out of specification
  • Make process improvement recommendations to senior management
  • Maintain application documentation
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, business partners, and organisations
  • relevant to the assigned initiative
  • Effective testing methodology to ensure high quality releases
  • Ensure all bugs are actioned in a timely manner

You, yourself and why?

We are looking for PHP Developers at a senior level.

There will be some tech leadership and advice on what should be designed and implemented with PHP as the primary language, with some HTML and Javascript thrown in for good measure, and some Smarty Templates for the front-end. You’re autonomous, and able to motivate yourself and your junior/mid-level to be successful.

Skills/Experience:

  • High Level knowledge of PHP, MySQL & JavaScript and wide understanding of other
  • programming languages
  • Experience using JavaScript, HTML5, XML, JSON, CSS, AJAX, jQuery
  • Solid experience working on MVC frameworks
  • Strong knowledge and experience with SVN, GIT
  • Experience with database design and optimisation techniques
  • Ability to manage a team to achieve results
  • Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders/customers, peers and colleagues
