We are looking for an experienced Delivery Operations Manager in our Networks Group to join our growing team in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

What is the role?

This role leads the team to manage delivery operations as a central point that includes the following functions:

  • Telecommunications carriage ordering, scheduling, invoice reconciliation and delivery management (provisioning) – accountable for carriage availability of defined technical quality and cost at the required time.
  • Field services coordination with local and in-house field technicians for on-site delivery fulfilment – accountable for right cost, right skills, and right time on site technical resource application for delivery fulfilment
  • Asset Management – establishing and managing asset tracking processes and tools in support of all delivery fulfilment – accountable for minimal shrinkage and time and cost efficiency
  • Equipment logistics – management of inhouse and 3PL delivery partners for storage and supply – accountable for traceability control, access and cost effectiveness
  • Procurement – Management of third-party supplier ordering, for the right supply to meet requirements. Accountable for third party supply to fulfil demand.
  • Licensing – Management of third-party licensing, validity, audits and assurance processes. Accountability for validity and invoice reconciliation of all licencing across the business.
  • Process definition and continuous improvement – Management of a continuous improvement approach and accountable for achieving process re-definition, automation, and efficiency improvement.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience


  • Experienced with local Australian Carrier Operations groups (eg. NBN Telstra, Optus, TPG, Vocus) and a good understanding of associated Networks and products.

Business Awareness:

  • Experience managing real time operational support teams
  • Awareness of all operations and structures within enterprise organisations.
  • Understanding of business fundamentals essential for continuous cost management and business justification.
  • Understands the impact of decisions on project outcomes, strategies, operations and budget.


  • Ability to work effectively with others and to communicate to audiences both verbally and through written material at a range of levels within Australia and the region
  • Can co-ordinate large meetings /conferences and represent Orro in formal presentations

  • Possesses skill of making the right decisions and using initiative to anticipate problems
  • Makes decisions based on an understanding of risks


  • Able to provide leadership, direction coaching and counselling to managers and team, even those located in an offshore support team
  • Able to establish a self-directing team with capability and process to scale with the significant business growth
  • Ability to manage others and guide the work of a team and/or technology area


  • Develops plans for medium to long term objectives for delivery operations group
  • Identifies future opportunities and potential problems and accommodates these into plans

Note: Position may require interstate and limited international travel
