We are looking for Level 2 Data Engineers to join our growing Network Services team in Manila.

About the Role

This role is responsible for administration, support and maintenance for data communication networks, including network devices such as routers, switches, wireless access points and firewalls. As a data engineer you will utilize a broad knowledge of network technologies such as WAN, LAN, WLAN, SDWAN and MPLS to aid in the maintaining and supporting, configuring, applying changes and updates, and monitoring of data network systems and applications.

The Data Engineer is responsible for after-hours on-call duty, monitors incident management queues, and follows service level agreements (SLAs) to align with operational performance goals.

As a member of the team, you will be focused on working with the team to perform ongoing operations, administration and support of network systems. Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • The engineer will work closely with first responder teams, service delivery teams; incident, problem and change management teams in supporting and maintaining both customer and Orro’s data network systems and associated applications.
  • Technically lead internal and external workshops in problem management and root cause analysis.
  • Participates in product evaluations, systems testing, certification, and product lifecycle management
  • Develops and maintains technical standards, procedures, and techniques for the resolution of data service issues to ensure maximum system availability and performance levels
  • Provide updates regarding the performance and availability of data network infrastructure and proactively work to resolve problems
  • Troubleshooting application and system errors using various tools and methods
  • SME for data systems, network components and carrier services.

We are looking for a well organised professional, with initiative, enthusiasm and a collaborative can-do attitude. You will have demonstrated success in supporting data network systems and the following skills, knowledge and experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Business or related field (2 years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Demonstrated success troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose problems with large-scale multi vendor environments, remotely.
  • CCNA/CCNP or equivalent Network Certification
  • Providing services within an ITIL environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or related field
  • 4 years relevant experience in similar role
  • CCIE or equivalent Network Certification
  • Knowledge of satellite data communications
  • Knowledge of Meraki, Fortinet, Viptela
